Don't do this when building your EB-1A profile
I am still seeing a common pattern amongst EB-1A profile-builders (who are industry professionals) of over-focusing on academic activities and not focusing enough on industry-related activities.
This approach can be problematic as:
1. Academic recognition does not necessarily help show that you have risen to the top of your field.
It can be argued that academics may not be considered your peers.
Also, if you want to show a high level of recognition in your industry, show that other top industry professionals recognize you for your work and expertise.
There are exceptions but generally speaking, target a mix of recognition (not just solely academic recognition).
